Semantic Web Foundations

Why choose the Semantic Web Foundations training

The semantic web is an extension of the standard web that aims to make data more accessible and reusable by machines. To do this, it uses semantic metadata that describes the meaning and relationship of information on the web. The semantic web is based on standards and languages developed by the W3C, such as RDF, RDFS or OWL. These languages allow the creation of ontologies, i.e. sets of concepts and rules that define a domain of knowledge. The semantic web thus offers the possibility of linking and querying data in a more intelligent and efficient way.

What you'll learn

The objectives of the semantic web training are as follows:

  • Understand the principles and challenges of the semantic web, which aims to make web data more accessible and usable by machines.
  • Learn to use semantic web standards and technologies, such as RDF, OWL, SPARQL, or SKOS, to represent, query, and share knowledge on the web.
  • Know how to design and implement semantic web applications, which exploit linked data to offer innovative and personalized services to users.
  • Acquire a global and critical vision of the challenges and opportunities of the semantic web for the development of the web of tomorrow.

Target audience

This training is intended for any person or structure wishing to train their teams (engineers, team leaders, etc.) in the principles of the semantic web and their implementation to streamline the data of the company.

Prerequisite

To follow a training on the semantic web, you need to have some prerequisites:

  • Know the principles of the web and the HTML, CSS and JavaScript languages.
  • Have a basic understanding of structured data formats such as XML, JSON or RDF.
  • Know how to use a query language like SPARQL to query semantic data.
  • Understand the basic concepts of ontology, vocabulary and inference.

These prerequisites will allow you to better understand the issues and applications of the semantic web, as well as the tools and methods to implement it.

Certification

A completion certificate is addressed to all attendees that complete the course.

Sharable certificate

Teaching method and assessment

Our interactive pedagogy allows us to transmit the knowledge and skills necessary for learners to master computer tools and languages. It is adapted to the level, needs and objectives of the learners. It encourages learners' autonomy, creativity and collaboration by proposing varied activities and concrete projects.

Course format

Customized formats can be offered to suit your needs and expectations. Contact us to schedule a meeting with one of our consultants.

This training can be attended in person or online. The estimated delay to start est around 1 month.

Before the training

  • Interview and questionnaire to identify the expectations and requirements
  • Sending of the administrative documents: contract, welcome leaflet, etc.
  • Sending of the setup instruction and resources for the course

During the training

  • Attendees come with their computer
  • Evaluation all along the course of the training (exercises, quiz, questions)

At the end

  • Personal completion certificate
  • Self-evaluation questionnaire
  • Satisfaction survey

After the training
